Palm Cove is a relaxing village located just 25 minutes from Cairns Airport. It’s one of the best travel destinations in Queensland where a long stretch of white sand beach, an esplanade lined with palm trees, lush vegetation, and crystal-clear waters await you!

Aside from the stunning sceneries, Palm Cove is also known for fun activities to make your trip a memorable one! Below are only some of them:

1. Trip to the Wilderness of Daintree National Park

For those of you who don’t know, Daintree National Park is the oldest living rainforest in the whole world! It’s literally the great grandpops of all forests on the planet. That’s why exploring this rainforest is a must-try before you die.

Daintree National Park is also a World-Heritage site that spans across Cairns and is home to the rich flora and fauna of the Wet Tropics of Queensland.

One of the best gateways to this massive chunk of forest is the Mossman Gorge, a 56,000 hectare of forest which is just a fraction of the total area of the national park. This is also where you’ll get to enjoy your best time in Daintree.

Some of the activities that you can participate in are river snorkelling, the traditional smoking ceremony of the Kuku Yalanji, and the guided hiking trails at the deeper parts of the rainforest.

2. Fishing Trips in the Great Barrier Reef

Just like the Daintree Rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef is also a stunning World Heritage site. While the Reef is famous for its great snorkelling and scuba diving spots, they’re not the only things that you can try there.

The Great Barrier Reef is also a great spot to unleash the angler in you. You can go to a nearby jump-off point called Cairns Marlin Marina, and from there you will set sail to the Reef via fishing vessel to reel in some big fish!

Before you reach the actual spot for fishing, you can also catch some fish on the way there. Some of the fish that you can hook are marlin, tuna, and mackerel. It can be a great warm-up before the big event!

Once you’ve reached the destination, you can throw your fishing lines and hooks into the water and catch some coral trout, trevally, and codfish if you’re lucky.

3. Ultimate Foodie Experience

Travel and food are always connected to each other. You can’t travel to a place without tasting its local food, and at the same time, you must travel just to experience a specific food culture.

That’s the recurring theme of Brett’s Outback Tasting Adventures. It’s a bus tour where you’ll have to travel to different locations for a memorable food tasting experience. The tour will start in Port Douglas, and from there, the bus will take you to several food shops that offer local and delectable food!

The food offerings range from tropical fruits to spirits, chocolates, and indigenous cuisines.

4. Massage Service at The Reef House

After all the activities that we’ve just mentioned, your whole body will get tired. Some will even experience backaches and foot pains, that’s for sure.

So before heading home, drop by The Reef House’s massage spa and get your whole body kneaded, your bones stretched, and your energy revitalized. What a perfect way to cap off your holiday in Palm Cove!

Don’t forget to make a reservation in advance for a hassle-free experience!
