Traveling For Peace – Is It Possible?

Travelling for peace sounds like an effort in escapism. However, it’s often quite obvious to anyone who travels that travel is not escapism. It might mean leaving your current home situation and job for a period of time, but it doesn’t mean that you’re looking for surface pleasures to replace those. Travelling means heading out into the world, trying to learn about the world you live in and become a better person through that. There are many ways to achieve this. Some might enjoy scheduling a vacation around cultural enrichment, learning as much as they can about the countries they visit. Some might embed themselves in the local restaurants, and meet the local people to get that taste of cultural flavor.

There are other ways to enjoy learning about yourself and the world. Travelling for peace can be a wonderful thing to do to shed some of the cobwebs from your mind and spirit. There are better and worse places to do this. Some of the best are listed below:

Thailand

Thailand has some of the best spiritual hubs available. The most spiritual places are Wat Pho in Bangkok, which is the oldest and most sizeable Buddhist temple. This famous temple is privileged to house the most incredible range of Buddhist statues. You can also learn Thai massage lessons on the grounds here, so if  you’re looking for a little extra TLC while visiting here you’ll find it. There are also a range of amazing Yogic lessons and activities you can find at TantraYogaThailand.com. These not only allow you to take a load off, but learn methods to overcome your stress in the future, and make it yours to control, not the other way around. Those who practice this art amongst learned teachers will find a method of connecting to their bodies and relaxing their minds. This can be a wonderful thing to experience personally, so be sure to make it a priority.

Iceland

There’s something about a sense of scale that can be intrinsically peaceful. Iceland is sure to rank top of the list where this is concerned. It’s not difficult to see that the wide-spanning landscapes, the geothermal spas, the museums and historical teachings of Iceland as well as some of the most stunning sunsets can all inform your peace of mind. There are many ways to experience Iceland. Simply rent a cheap but comfortable vehicle and drive along the scenic routes, stopping to eat food, relax, read and meditate. Do this with a partner you love, listen to peaceful music in relative silence and simply relax in one another’s company. Before long you’ll feel more renewed than you may have ever felt.

New Zealand

There’s something to be said for scale, but also awe. Sometimes the weather, culture, pure beauty and recognisable locations all come together to gift you something special. New Zealanders are among some of the most welcoming and warm people in the world, and the entire breadth of their island is nothing but absolutely phenomenal to visit. If you’re looking for sandy beaches without the intense feeling of strange overexertion, music with a deep relaxing tone, some beautiful cuisine and private areas for you and a partner to experience this country solo, then you can be sure New Zealand will offer you plenty. Why not find the filming locations for The Lord of The Rings, try surfing, or simply walking the many incredible routes along these environments? You’d be surprised just how incredible all this can be to experience from your first time to your last time visiting.

With all this in mind, you can be sure that your next vacation will absolutely allow you to travel for peace.
