If you live in or near Indiana and googled “sunflower fields near me” you are in the right place. There are several beautiful sunflower fields and farms throughout Indiana for those that want to enjoy being in nature or take photos for instagram. Keep reading for a list of the best sunflower fields in Indiana that you can visit. Some sunflower fields and mazes are closed for 2020, but a few are still blooming and open for visitors until late September/early October.  I have updated the post to reflect which sunflower fields are still open for visitors.

Below is a list of sunflower fields in Indiana. I have included useful information you need to plan your visit, including addresses, hours, bloom dates as well as links to their websites and facebook pages. Note: Some sunflower fields close after too much rain and dates are adjusted so make sure to check their facebook pages for the most up to date hours, dates and weather related closures before you go.

Sunflower Fields in Northwest Indiana

Johnsons Farm

Where: 8960 East Ridge Road, Hobart, IN 46342 which is located about 41 miles from Chicago and 10 miles from Gary, Indiana.

When: Sunflower Fun Farm Weekend held on September 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th

Hours: 8am – 6pm (last admission is 5pm)

Cost: Fun Farm admission is $8.00 per person and includes access to the U Pick fields, jump pad, jump pillow, obstacle course, pipe swing, triple slide, pedal karts, blue-choo, tram rides, goat village, Johnson’s town, and corn box. Sunflowers from our U Pick field are 1 for $3 each or 3 for $6.

Johnson’s Farm Produce is a family farm that has been selling some of the freshest home grown fruits and vegetables available in Northwest Indiana since 1940.

County Line Orchard

Where: 200 S. County Line Rd, Hobart, IN 46342 which is located about 43 miles from downtown Chicago.

When: Sunflower patch is in full bloom. The best picking is from mid to late September.

Cost: $1 per person. Pay for what you pick: $2 for large or $2 for small bunch.

County Line Orchard has a sunflower patch but this farm has a lot of fun activities for kids including apple picking, tractor rides, a kid farm, corn maze and more. Check their Facebook page for most current information.

Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch

Where: 17904 Grant St, Lowell, IN 46356 which is located about 61 miles from downtown Chicago and 130 miles from Indianapolis.

When:  September 12, 2020 – Late September, 2020

Cost: Tickets cost $5.95 per person (online) or $8.95 per person (on-site). Ages 2 and under are free.

Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 3pm – 7:30pm and Saturday & Sunday 10am – 6pm.

Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch has acres of flower fields including sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, black-eyed susans, and more. There are vintage inspired photo opportunities throughout the meadows. You can also enjoy tasty treats on the farm from fresh lemonade, iced coffee, and donuts on weekends only. Pets are not allowed.

Where: 55923 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, IN 46552 located about 10 miles west of South Bend, Indiana

Where: 7749 E. 1000 N., Indianapolis, IN 46259

Hours: 10 am – 6 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Cost: $1/stem

Tuttle Orchards

Where: 5717 N. 300 W., Greenfield, IN 46140 which is located about 21 miles from Indianapolis

Dates: Bloom time for the sunflowers is approximated 2 weeks (July 31 – August 15 in 2020).

Hours: Monday – Saturday 9:00am – 6:00pm (Thursday til 7) and closed Sunday. Must purchase tickets online in advance to attend.

Cost: Admission is $6/person ages 5 and up. Children 4 and under are free and no ticket is needed. Cost of cut sunflowers is $3/stem (includes tax). A self-service wrapping station will be available. Provided scissors will be sanitized between guests. Cut your own sunflowers are paid for the day you attend.

Tuttle Orchards has a sunflower trail which is approximately 4 acres of sunflowers to walk through in a one way path. It takes about 20 minutes to walk through the trail. Pets are not allowed except for ADA service animals. Make sure to read their guidelines for photographers.  Check their facebook page and website for most current information.

Where: 7177 E 161st Street, Noblesville, IN located about 28 miles north of Indianapolis

Dates: Sunflowers last about 2 weeks (July 19 – August 7 in 2020)

Hours: Open Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sundays from 1pm-6pm.

Cost: Entry fee is $5 a person and 2 and under free. Cut stems are $3.

Spencer Farm is a You-Pick fruit farm located in central Indiana featuring a market with locally sourced meat & cheese; ice cream, fudge, pies, produce & family fun. During regular public business hours photos may be taken by the general public guests for personal use and props, tripods, etc. are not be permitted. Stuckey Farm

Where: 19975 Hamilton Boone Road, Sheridan (located 34 miles north of Indianapolis)

When: Stuckey Farm’s Sunflower Festival was Labor Day weekend, Sept 4-7, 2020 (preorder tickets in advance).  The sunflower field seems to still be open.

Cost: Ticket price varies for adults but children age 2 years old and under are free.

Stuckey Farm has over over 20 different varieties of sunflowers on 7 acres. Check their website for details and to purchase tickets.

Wea Creek Orchard

Where: 5618 South 200 East, Lafayette, IN 47909 (located about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis)

Hours: Thursday- Saturday 10AM – 6PM and Sunday 12PM – 6PM

The sunflower fields at Wea Creek Orchard are no longer open. Check their facebook or instagram for details.

Beasley’s Orchard

Where: 2304 E Main Street, Danville, IN 46122 about 17 miles west of Indianapolis

When: Sunflower Festival on August 21-23 & August 28-30.  The sunflower field is now closed for 2020 but farm is open for fall events.

Hours: 9am-8:30pm on Fridays & Saturdays  and 12pm-8:30pm on Sundays

Cost: $5 per person, which includes access to the sunflower patch and 1 cut stem. Ages 2 and under are free. Additional stems sold separately.

Beasley’s Orchard has 4 acres of sunflowers. Professional photographers must purchase a session in advance for $75.00 during special evening hours for on weekdays.

Golliher Farms

Where: 17474 W. Hunnicut Road Cambridge City, IN 47327 (located 56 miles east of Indianapolis)

When: In 2020, they are open from August 16 until the blooms stop (expected in October, 2020)

Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm – dark and Sundays noon – dark

Cost: $5 general admission per person; $5 more to pick your own bouquet (they supply jars, water and snips). Professional photographers and clients are welcome with no additional charge.

Golliher Farms has over 75,000 sunflowers which are expected to last into the fall. In addition to the sunflowers, visitors can enjoy the baby goat barn with baby goats and ducks. Check their facebook page for current information.

The Barn at Crystal Spring Farm

Where: 3620 Hurricane Road, Franklin, IN 46131 (located 20 miles south of Indianapolis)

Dates: Check the farm’s facebook page for current dates and information.

Hours: They do not have set hours – visitors are welcome anytime.

Cost: 3 sunflowers for $1. There is a container to pay for the sunflowers.

Sunflower Farm in Southern Indiana

Cornucopia Farm

Cornucopia Farm has 3 acres of different sizes and colors of sunflowers.

Where: 5444 N Rutherford Hollow Road, Scottsburg, IN 47170 (located about 92 miles south of Indianapolis and 40 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky)

When: Open on weekends from September 12 – October 31, 2020. The 2nd Annual Sunflower Experience is September 12-13th and Sept. 19-20th, 2020 and tickets must be purchased online in advance.

Cost: $10.00 per person, 2 yr. and under free; school rates available
