Please note that it is too soon to know 2024 dates for sunflowers but you can see dates from 2023 below to get an approximate range of timing.

Below is a list of sunflower fields in Indiana. I have included useful information you need to plan your visit, including addresses, hours, bloom dates as well as links to their websites and facebook pages. Note: Some sunflower fields close after too much rain and dates are adjusted so make sure to check their facebook pages for the most up to date hours, dates and weather related closures before you go.

Sunflower Fields in Northwest Indiana

Johnsons Farm

Where: 8960 East Ridge Road, Hobart, IN 46342 (located about 41 miles from Chicago and 10 miles from Gary, Indiana)

When: Sunflower Fun Farm Weekend will be held on September 9-10 and 16-17, 2023 (weather dependent).

Hours: 8am – 6pm (last admission is 5pm)

Cost: Fun Farm admission is $12 per person for all farm activities (except the train and produce cannons) OR $20 for an all access pass per person for all farm activities.

Johnson’s Farm Produce has planted over 20 acres of sunflowers this year. They offer sunflower U Pick. In addition to their sunflower fields, they have also planted a field of zinnias.

County Line Orchard

Where: 200 S. County Line Rd, Hobart, IN 46342 (located about 43 miles from downtown Chicago)

Dates: Opens August 30, 2023. The best sunflower picking is from mid to late September.

Hours: 9am – 6pm daily

Cost: General admission is $2 per person. Pay for what you pick: $2 for large or $2 for small bunch.

County Line Orchard has a sunflower patch but this farm has a lot of fun activities for kids including apple picking, tractor rides, a kid farm, corn maze and more. Check their Facebook page for most current information.

Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch

Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch will feature over a dozen varieties of sunflowers ranging in colors from tradition yellows, oranges, reds, and white. Pets are not allowed.

Where: 17904 Grant St, Lowell, IN 46356 (located about 61 miles from downtown Chicago and 130 miles from Indianapolis)

Dates: Their annual Sunflower Festival will be held September 2-3 & 9-10, 2023. Tickets will be available soon.

Hours: Open Saturdays & Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Cost: Access to Sunflower Fields is included with Fall Festival General Admission ($18.95 per person in advance online OR $22.95 per person onsite). Kids 2 and Under are free. Take home sunflower prices are: $2 per sunflower, $10 for 6 sunflowers, $18 for 12 sunflowers, $20 for Mason Jar (all you can fit) of sunflowers.

Sunflower Fields in Michiana

Thistleberry Farm

Where: 61391 Mayflower Rd. South Bend, IN 46614

When: The Sunflower Field and the Lavender Field have closed for the summer. They have replanted the field and it should be blooming again around the third week or September, depending on the weather.

​​Hours: Weekdays 3:00 -9:30pm; Saturdays 10:00 am to 9:30 pm; Sundays 10am – 5pm

Cost: Admission to the sunflower field is $8 per person. Ages 2 and under are free. Prices for U-Pick are $1 per stem for regular yellow sunflowers, $2 per stem for specialty sunflowers and 50 cents per stem for zinnias.

Thistleberry Farm has a sunflower field for u-pick and pictures. They also have a lavender field open on the same dates.

Field to Vase U-Pick Flower Farm

Where: 55923 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, IN 46552 (located about 10 miles west of South Bend, Indiana)

When: Flower fields will be open July 1, 2023 then from July 8-October 7, 2023.

Hours: Open every day except Monday and Tuesday. Hours vary.

Cost: FREE admission. Prices for flowers vary. Cash or card (prefer cash).

Field to Vase U-Pick Flower Farm has u-pick sunflowers and other flowers available from July through early-October. Leashed dogs are allowed. They will also have craft/food vendors every Saturday and some Sundays.

Sunflower Fields in Central Indiana Near Indianapolis

Tuttle Orchards

Where: 5717 N. 300 W., Greenfield, IN 46140  (located about 21 miles from Indianapolis)

Dates: Tentatively scheduled to open August 25, 2023. The sunflowers are typically only in bloom for about two weeks. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Cost: $7/person for ages 2 and up. Children 1 and under are free. Combo Passes (includes Sunflowers and Tractor Town Kid’s Area) are $14 (Fri & Sat) or $12 (Mon-Thurs). Cost of cut sunflowers is $3/stem or make your own vase ($25 for half gallon jar and five sunflowers).

Tuttle Orchards will have a sunflower trail which is approximately 3 acres of sunflowers to walk through in a one way path. It takes about 20 minutes to walk through the trail. They also have a wildflower garden with zinnias, celosia, and more. Reservations are encouraged. Pets are not allowed. Make sure to read their guidelines for photographers.

Where: 7177 East 161st Street, Noblesville, IN (located about 28 miles north of Indianapolis)

Dates: Sunflowers are officially in bloom and open to the public..

Hours: Monday-
Saturday: 9 am – 6 pm& Sunday: 12:00 pm – 6 pm

Spencer Farm will have over a 3 acres of sunflowers. They also have a winery and a market with fresh baked pies, homemade fudge, pre-picked blackberries, and extra sweet watermelons. During regular public business hours photos may be taken by the general public guests for personal use and props, tripods, etc. are not be permitted. Stuckey Farm

Where: 19975 Hamilton Boone Rd, Sheridan, IN 46069 (located 34 miles north of Indianapolis)

When: Stuckey Farm’s Sunflower Festival will take place Labor Day Weekend 2023

Cost: Ticket price varies for adults but children age 2 years old and under are free. You can (preorder tickets now in advance). Save $2 per ticket by purchasing them through their Stuckey Farm App.

Stuckey Farm has over over 20 different varieties of sunflowers on 7 acres. Check their facebook page or website for details and to purchase tickets.

Beasley’s Orchard

Where: 2304 E Main Street, Danville, IN 46122 (about 17 miles west of Indianapolis)

When: Their Sunflower Festival will be held late July, 2023.

Hours: Friday-Saturdays: 9am-9:00pm, Sundays: 12pm-6pm, Monday-Thursday: 9am-6pm

Cost: $7 per person, which includes access to the sunflower patch and 1 cut stem. Ages 2 and under are free. Additional stems sold separately. You can also purchase a limited supply of buckets of blossoms (unlimited stems) online.

Beasley’s Orchard has planted over 7 acres of sunflowers. Visitors can take photographs, and pick your own sunflowers. Admission tickets are now available for purchase on their website or purchase an admission ticket upon arrival.

The Barn at Helm

Where: 5544 W Helm Rd, Williamsburg, IN 47393 (located about 70 miles east of Indianapolis)

Cost: $5 per person to enter. Additional cost of $20 (vase included) if you want to cut a vase of flowers.

The Barn at Helm has a great sunflower field and upick flowers.They have over 80 different varieties of flowers & sunflowers. In addition to sunflowers they have multiple other flower types including high end flowers (dahlias, lisianthus, gladiola, etc) included in UPick.

Sunflower Farm in Southern Indiana

Cornucopia Farm

Where: 5444 N Rutherford Hollow Road, Scottsburg, IN 47170 (located about 92 miles south of Indianapolis and 40 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky)

When: Opens September 8, 2023.

Hours: Friday: 10-8, Saturday: 10-7, Sunday: 1-7

Cornucopia Farm will have eight different varieties planted across 3 acres. Wagon rides will take visitors to both the pumpkin and sunflower U-pick patches as well as the 6-acre corn maze, the petting farm, giant slides, cow train and more.
