Mexico City is pretty hectic

Located in a shallow mountain bowl, over 2000 metres above sea level, Mexico City is crammed with over 20 million people. To put that number into perspective, both New York and London are home to just over eight million people each. That means that Mexico City contains the populations of both of these cities put together, plus a few extra people. That’s a lot of people in one city, which is what makes it such a hectic place.

The food is out of this world

One of the main reasons so many people choose to visit Mexico City each year is because of the food that’s on offer. As well as being home to some amazing restaurants, the street food in Mexico City is some of the very best in the world. Thousands of stalls line the streets selling everything and anything. From tacos and quesadillas to elote – roasted corn, and tamales. As well an impressive selection of street food, there’s also plenty of drinks on offer. It’s no secret that Mexico City has one of the highest crime rates in the world, but don’t let that put you off.
